This Davido ‘A Good Time’ Album Review is a detailed and concised article for easy reading and understanding. Writing from an independent and unclogged perspective.
If you are amongst the youth that screamed ’30 billion for the account ooo’ some months back, then you will agree with me that it’s ‘A good time’ to be alive indeed.
It was reported that 50cent who once neglected OBO but later invited him to perform in his Power Premier show once dropped about 3 albums that didn’t make him a penny. Luckily enough for him Get Rich or Die Trying made it huge.
Not only 50, other Celebrities has encountered the same Delima and few come out of it alive.
This was not the case for David Adeleke as he is know at home, because his first album that introduced him into the ever competitive Nigerian Music industry did perfectly well for a new comer. The album OBO Omo Baba Olowo was what one can call an Over Night success!
He gannered awards of different categories and featured top acts back then like Naeto C in Back When and 2Baba in For You. Songs like Dami Duro, Gbon Gbon and Ekuro took off like wide fires in the album. He shut down shows and made a lot of money for his HKN label co-owened by his cousin brothers B-Red and Shina Rambo.
At times it difficult for Nigerian artist to go pass this height OBO has attained. But this was not the last bus stop for the son of a billionaire.
Obo dropped another brief EP named made Son of Mercy made up of just 5 goods songs like Gba gbe oshi and How long featuring Tinashe
In 2017 he shook the music industry with a banging single titled ‘If’ the song crossed borders and break boundaries. The hit jam was mastermind and produced by ace producer Tekno.
It was from IF he coined his trademark tag 30 Billion Gang or 30BG. Because in this song he was heard promising to give his enstrange girl friend a huge amount of 30 billion. He didn’t specify whether it’s Naira or Dollars.
His loyal fans since then believed that he OBO has the said amount in his account. I doubted this claim for a very long time until OBO started making money reaching that amount.
There are so many positive reviews and statics to back up the success of IF but that is not the primary focus of this article.
He didn’t stop there, because immediately before IF died down, he released another banger titled Fall.
Fall produced by Kidominat was the song that cemented everything for David. Fall hit every nooks and crannies a song need to hit to remain on top, because of such an beatable effort Fall remain on top for months topping charts like the pass heroe Michael Jackson.
Since that time every thing changed for Obo as releasing hits upon hits become an habits to him. Although some of his song meet strong criticism like Assurance and Woman.
The year 2018 was all shows and events for OBO so we got less songs from him. But this year 2019 he hit us like it’s hot with a banging song Blow My Mind ft the award winning American musician Chris Brown. The song just keep topping charts since then.
Ushering in his album he gave his loyal ever longing fan base something that’s too risky for them to ignore…it’s nothing but a dope song titled Risky featuring the ace Jamaica artist Popcaan.
With all that said the good thing about this album is that your 16 years old can comfortably listen to almost all the songs in the album because of Davido controled choice of words.
Another good thing is that Davido didn’t shout much in this album like he did in his first album OBO. This makes him sound more professional and experienced in the game.
Let’s I forget if you have someone that requires an Assurance from you then track 14 is your best bet.
Meanwhile track 8 is for anyone who loves taking Risk!
